FAQs

Where are you?

Our gallery inhabits a brightly lit corner of the old hardware store, now home to Ridegfield Floral + Gifts in downtown Ridgefield, Washington. The building is on the corner of Pioneer Street and Main Street, kitty corner from Overlook Park.

Our official address is Main Street, but the door that exclusively opens into the gallery is the entrance on Pioneer Street. The gallery is accessible through the floral shop if they are open, if not, come to the Pioneer Street door.

What are your hours?

Appointments to view work can be arranged outside of open hours can be arranged by emailing ridgefieldartgallery@gmail.com

Check out our Events page for after hours public events starting in Jan 2026.

What items are for sale there?

The original artwork, fine art prints, cards, and small handcrafted gifts. Check out what’s in stock in our shop.

Is there other things to do near by?

Yes! Ridgefield Floral & Gifts and other local businesses are in the same building, shops and restaurants nearby, Liberty Theatre and Season’s Cafe across the street, and Carts by the Park- our food cart pod.

There are more Ridgefield Art Association artists’ work adorning the walls of our library on Main Street, Bunnie’s Pizza, and Ridgefield Wine Bar.

We are across the street from the lovely Overlook Park, just up the road from the Ridgefield waterfront, and a stone’s throw from the Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge with walking trails or the Refuge “drive-through” wildlife area.

What is an artist cooperative gallery?

An Artist Cooperative is a gallery that is member-run. Each artist pays membership dues, which cover rent and operating costs for the gallery. Artists have “gallery sitting” shifts throughout the month. This model allows for members to share responsibilities, resources, and democratically make decisions to benefit the membership as a whole.

How does an artist become a gallery member?

Just two simple steps:

1) Be a member of the Ridgefield Art Association or join upon acceptance to the gallery. You can learn more about that HERE.

2) Fill out this application form. There are further details on the application page.

How are members chosen?

New members are voted on by the gallery management committee when there is a vacancy. We take into consideration the artist’s work, if that work would be a good fit in the space, and the work’s relationship with fellow members.

Some criteria could include: Does the artist have a cohesive style or message carried through their work? Is work created using quality materials that will last if purchased by a patron? Are original pieces adequately framed and wired so they are easier for customer to buy, transport, and hang up at home? Does the artist have a body of work large enough to be a “featured artist” for a month?

Don’t hold back! Some criteria can be worked on if it’s the right fit. Feel free to email ridgefieldartgallery@gmail.com for further clarification or any questions.

If I’m a gallery member, how much wall space do I get?

This will not follow a vendor space-style model with individual little nooks with one artist per “space”. The cooperative chooses a “Featured Artist” for each month of the year, to showcase more work on a prominent space. The rest of the cooperative membership will bring in 3-5 pieces each (depending on the size of their work and space allotted) that is complimentary to the monthly theme or to the Featured Artists work.

Do I hang my own work?

Only if you’re on the Curatorial Committee for the gallery. Otherwise, on our monthly art drop-off day you just need to drop off your work, sign it in, fill out a few odds and ends, and we’ll curate the show for the month.

Do you only sell 2D art?

Nope! Our members range from 2d to 3D and sometimes do both. Both hangable and pedestal ready 3D work is welcome.

Do you only sell original art?

Nope! All our members are welcome to stock a limited number of prints, cards, or small-batch, hand-crafted items for 3D artists (for example: beautiful mugs, ceramic magnets, palettes, etc.). We are happy to work with 3D artists who aren’t sure how to translate their art to a smaller scale.
